Frequently Asked QuestionsSave Money The conservatory you've always wanted at a price you can afford. We guarantee you won’t find a better deal for service, value and quality.
What area do you cover?Plymouth, Plymstock, Plympton, Ivybridge, Ashburton, Saltash, Torpoint, Liskeard, Callington, Yelverton, Tavistock and all neighbouring areas. What products do you supply?Probably, the largest range of purpose built, self build conservatories in Devon and Cornwall. What materials do you use?PVCu in White, Woodgrain, and White on Woodgrain. Will I really save a worthwhile amount opting for a DIY installation?Yes, for a typical 3m x 3m conservatory you could save anywhere up to £5,000 plus, and because you are spending less, the purchase price will reflect in the value of your home more quickly. Is there any room for negotiation? No, rather than artificially inflating a price to later offer a discount that never existed, we always quote our best price right from the start. We do not play games. We value your custom, and go about our business in a respectful and professional manner. What makes The Conservatory Associates so different from other DIY suppliers?Simple - no guesswork, no compromise. Nothing is left to chance. We offer free expert personal on site design assistance, followed by two free technical site surveys – one before building work commences (free detailed baseplan provided), and another upon completion. This means that any possible basework discrepancies can be identified prior to delivery, and with your order then amended accordingly, you can be rest assured that when your conservatory arrives, it will fit! Can you install for me?We can certainly introduce you to our suitably qualified and experienced associate installers, whose reliability and standards of work have been proven. Dealing directly with our recommended fitters in this way helps keep your costs down by normally eliminating Value Added Tax on this element of your installation, along with added project management fees and increased profit margin. Do you guarantee your products?Yes, all components are covered by comprehensive manufacturers' guarantees, further underwritten by ourselves for absolute peace of mind. Do you have a showroom / display site? No, we rely totally on previously completed installations. This way a prospective client can see our finished products performing outside in the ‘real world’, attached to existing customers' properties. Will planning permission be required?Quite often, yes. Contrary to the normal 'blanket' advice given, we find that eight out of every ten conservatories that we supply require planning approval for some reason or another. As part of our overall service, we liase with, and seek advice from, your local Planning Authority and duly obtain any relevant permissions on your behalf, completely free of charge. Will building regulation approval be required? Not normally, unless, amongst other things, the internal floor area of your conservatory exceeds 30 square metres, the conservatory is installed more than 600mm above ground level, or there are to be no connecting doors to the rest of your house, for example. As with planning permissions, we liase with your local Building Control Department (included free as part of our overall service), and obtain all necessary approvals, thus ensuring compliance in all respects. What is the delivery period?Depending on the season, typically 3-5 weeks, either from date of order or from receipt of planning permission (if required). Please note that it can take anywhere between 6-8 (usual) and 12+ weeks for planning permission to be granted, and therefore, one must take this into account when planning ahead. What are your payment terms? 30% upon placing order.
